San Diego, CA – August 16, 2025 — The San Diego Chapter of the Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors (FASCA-SD) proudly volunteered at the annual Taiwan Festival, hosted by the Taiwanese American Professionals – San Diego (TAP-SD). The event served as a vibrant celebration of Taiwanese heritage and provided FASCA members with a meaningful opportunity to engage with the community while cultivating leadership and service skills led by project leaders Katharine Tsaur and Kamryn Liu.

As the organizing partner, FASCA-SD is responsible for planning and operating ten booths inspired by Taiwan’s iconic night markets, creating an authentic cultural experience for festivalgoers. At the cultural booths, participants enjoyed hands-on activities such as lantern-making and traditional games like the diabolo. Game booths added to the lively atmosphere with popular favorites including balloon darts, pinball machines, and claw machines—bringing the joy and energy of a bustling Taiwanese night market to San Diego.

In addition to the FASCA-run activities, attendees savored authentic Taiwanese street food from local vendors and enjoyed dynamic musical performances by Taiwanese community groups, which highlighted the festival’s spirit of cultural pride. A creative stamp-collecting and raffle activity encouraged visitors to explore each booth, adding excitement and fostering curiosity about Taiwanese traditions.

“The festival drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, making it a resounding success. FASCA-SD’s contributions reflected the organization’s core values of service, leadership, culture, and legacy, strengthening cultural ties between Taiwanese and American communities in San Diego.” said the responsible consulting mentor Irene Wang. Through this event, FASCA-SD members not only shared Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage but also built lasting connections that will continue to inspire and unite the community.
